Torsby Ski Tunnel- more skiing for our students

At the moment it seems as if Torsby will have a cross-country ski tunnel. This would mean that our students will get reall good skiing facilities, even during the time we haven’t got snow. What could be better training then skiing on snow?

This is what the tunnel will offer you:

Skiing all year round. Temperatures 5 to 9 below C. Artificial snow.

The one- way length of the tunnel will be 2,5 kilometres, i.e. a 5 kilometre track back and forth. The tunnel will be 8 meters wide and 4 meters high.

Two tracks for classical skiing, along the sides of the tunnel, leave good space for free style skiing in the centre, thus allowing skiers to meet and pass each other freely.

Adjoining outdoor shooting range.

The tunnel will follow the natural elevations closely, half of the tunnel being lowered into the ground.
The date for the building of this ski tunnel, however, has not been set.

Magnus Larsson- trainer and coach for all the students in our Alpine skiing programe. Magnus was an international Alpine skier before coming to Stjerneskolan.

My Buskqvist- last year student, standing under the portrait of Stjerneskolans most well known student- Gunde Svan, probably the best Cross-coutry skier in modern times.
